Presidente Abinader participará en toma de posesión del nuevo obispo, Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas, y supervisará avances de los trabajos de la presa de Guaigüí en La Vega este sábado
Santo Domingo.–President Luis Abinader will develop a work agenda this weekend in La Vega and Santiago, as part of the official activities he carries out day by day, for the benefit of the Dominican population.
This Saturday, August 1, he will participate in the inauguration of the new bishop of the diocese, Monsignor Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas; will supervise the progress of the construction work of the Guaigüí dam, a strategic work to strengthen the water supply and productive development of the area, in addition to leading activities linked to education, housing and training of young people.
In La Vega, the president will inaugurate the roof of the Mercedes Morel Polytechnic, the Caipi La Arboleda, and will hold a meeting with students. In Santiago, on Saturday he will lead the inauguration of sections 9 and 10 of El Sol Street and the renovated Colón Park, while on Sunday he will hand over apartments in Hato del Yaque and preside over the graduation of young people from the Oportunidad 14-24 program and a new promotion of immigration agents.
Saturday's agenda will begin at 10:00 in the morning in La Vega with the president's participation in the inauguration of the new bishop elected by His Holiness, Monsignor Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas, in the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
Subsequently, the head of state will inaugurate the roof of the Mercedes Morel Polytechnic, a work that will strengthen the educational infrastructure of the province.
Likewise, he will hold a meeting with young students from high schools and private schools to exchange ideas about education, leadership and opportunities for youth.
Later, the president will inaugurate the La Arboleda Comprehensive Early Childhood Care Center (Caipi), which will expand early care and stimulation services for boys and girls in the community.
President Abinader's agenda in La Vega will conclude with a visit to learn about the progress of the construction work on the Guaigüí dam, a strategic work for the water and productive development of the region.
That same day, in Santiago, the ruler will inaugurate the first stage of the remodeling of El Sol Street, corresponding to sections 9 and 10, as well as the renovation of Colón Park, interventions that will contribute to the revitalization of the historic center of the city.
On Sunday, President Abinader will continue his tour in Santiago with the delivery of apartments in Hato del Yaque, as part of the Government's policies to expand access to decent housing.
Subsequently, he will lead the graduation of young people from the Oportunidad 14-24 program in the Northern region, who complete a training process aimed at strengthening their capabilities for job insertion and entrepreneurship.
The day will conclude with the graduation of the fourth class of immigration agents, who will reinforce the work of immigration control and management in the country.
