Syrian Petroleum Company discusses refining sector development with Czech delegation
Damascus, July 30 (SANA)Chief Executive Officer of the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC), Youssef Qablawi, held talks with aCzech delegationrepresenting several companies specializing in the refining sector to discuss prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas industry, particularly the development of Syria’s refining capabilities.In a statement posted on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, the company said the two sides explored opportunities for technical and investment cooperation, as well as ways to benefit from Czech expertise and advanced technologies to modernize refining infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency.
The discussions also covered modern technologies and solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions and strengthening environmental protection standards atoil facilities.The company added that the delegation visited the Homs Refinery on Tuesday to assess the operational status of its production units. The visit forms part of a broader program to evaluate opportunities for cooperation and strengthen the Syrian-Czech partnership in the fields of oil, gas, andpetroleum refining.The meeting comes as part of the Syrian Petroleum Company’s efforts to develop the domestic oil and gas sector, expand cooperation with foreign companies, and employ modern expertise and technologies to upgrade refineries and the sector’s infrastructure.
