Commander-in-Chief Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Visits Counter Terrorism Service Headquarters ••••• Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi conducted a field visit today, Thursday, to the headquarters of the Counter Terrorism Service to assess its operational and administrative readiness and review its requirements for further developing its capabilities. The Prime Minister began the visit with a tour of the Service’s exhibition of weapons, military equipment, and operational assets, where he reviewed its latest systems, weapons, and equipment and received a briefing on their capabilities and effectiveness in carrying out combat duties and special operations. The Commander-in-Chief also chaired a meeting attended by the Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the President of the Counter Terrorism Service, and a number of senior commanders and unit commanders. During the meeting, he received a detailed briefing from the President of the Service on ongoing combat duties, the current level of operational readiness, and plans to enhance performance and strengthen operational capabilities. During his meeting with the commanders and personnel of the Counter Terrorism Service, the Prime Minister commended their heroic role, affirming that they have long stood as a symbol of honor and sacrifice. Through their courage and dedication, they have helped shape the image of a new Iraq, set an example of loyalty and devotion to the nation, and dealt a decisive blow to terrorism by defeating its criminal gangs. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the high fighting spirit that distinguishes the Service’s personnel and of further strengthening the values of heroism, discipline, and courage within its ranks. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to caring for the wounded and providing them with the highest standard of medical treatment, while emphasizing that it will continue to stand by the families of the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of Iraq and its people.
