President Boakai Honors Berthold Kobina Ackon (Wodemaya) and Jenkins Nyuma for Promoting Liberia During 179th Independence Celebrations

The recognition took place during a breakfast meeting at the President’s Rehab Residence, attended by Director General of the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA), Hon. Princess Eva Cooper; Deputy Director General for Marketing and Promotions, Mr. Jani Jallah Kollie; Mr. Berthold Kobina Ackon, popularly known as Wodemaya; and Mr. Jenkins S. Nyuma.

The meeting celebrated the contributions of Berthold Kobina Ackon (Wodemaya) and Jenkins Nyuma to promoting Liberia during the country’s 179th Independence Day celebrations and explored opportunities to expand the nation’s tourism, cultural, and investment profile through strategic partnerships and digital storytelling.

President Boakai expressed appreciation to Wodemaya for using his widely followed digital platforms to showcase Liberia’s tourism, culture, history, and hospitality to millions of viewers across Africa and the world. In recognition of his efforts and his travels across Liberia highlighting the country’s unique attractions and untold stories, the President presented Wode Maya with a Special Presidential Pin as a symbol of national appreciation.

Wodemaya thanked President Boakai for the recognition and described Liberia as a country blessed with extraordinary history, breathtaking natural attractions, and warm, welcoming people. He said his visit provided an opportunity to present a different narrative about Liberia by showcasing its beauty, resilience, and investment opportunities to a global audience.
