Después de más de 40 años, el INCAN avanza hacia una transformación histórica para mejorar la atención de pacientes oncológicos
The works, which are 93% complete, represent the first large-scale structural intervention since the inauguration of the care center more than four decades ago. The investment will allow years of partial repairs to be left behind to make way for a modern, safe and humanized infrastructure, designed to provide more dignified and higher quality care.
A historic investment to strengthen public health
The first stage of the project includes an investment close to G. 9,000 million, financed by the ITAIPU Binacional, through the Tesãi Foundation, within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed with the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare.
In addition, a second stage is already planned, which will incorporate new expansion works and equipment with an approximate investment of G. 52,000 million, strengthening the response capacity of the main reference center for cancer treatment in the country.
During a technical visit to verify the progress, authorities from the Ministry of Health, ITAIPU Binacional and the Tesãi Foundation verified the development of the work, which is in its final phase.
More infrastructure and better conditions for patients and health personnel
The intervention includes the comprehensive renovation of the Hospitalization Block and the Hematology Service. In total, 60 hospitalization rooms will be enabled, distributed between the upper floor and the ground floor, designed under criteria of comfort, functionality, safety and dignity for patients, family members and health professionals.
The works include the complete remodeling of the rooms, air conditioning of all rooms, renovation of floors, painting work, modernization of technical facilities and general improvements in hospital infrastructure.
Commitment to more humane care
This is the largest investment made in INCAN in more than 40 years and reflects the commitment of the Government of Paraguay, led by President Santiago Peña, to strengthening the public health system.
More than a work of infrastructure, it represents a commitment to providing safer, more comfortable and humanized spaces, which allow us to offer higher quality medical care and accompany thousands of cancer patients and their families in better conditions during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

La inversión permitirá dejar atrás años de reparaciones parciales para dar paso a una infraestructura moderna, segura y humanizada, pensada para brindar una atención más digna y de mayor calidad. Durante una visita técnica para verificar los avances, autoridades del Ministerio de Salud, de la ITAIPU Binacional y de la Fundación Tesãi constataron el desarrollo de los trabajos, que se encuentran en su fase final. Más infraestructura y mejores condiciones para pacientes y personal de salud La intervención contempla la renovación integral del Bloque de Internación y del Servicio de Hematología. En total, serán habilitadas 60 salas de internación, distribuidas entre la planta alta y la planta baja, diseñadas bajo criterios de confort, funcionalidad, seguridad y dignidad para pacientes, familiares y profesionales de la salud. Las obras incluyen la remodelación completa de las habitaciones, climatización de todos los ambientes, renovación de pisos, trabajos de pintura, modernización de las instalaciones técnicas y mejoras generales en la infraestructura hospitalaria. Compromiso con una atención más humana Esta es la mayor inversión realizada en el INCAN en más de 40 años y refleja el compromiso del Gobierno del Paraguay, encabezado por el presidente Santiago Peña, con el fortalecimiento del sistema público de salud. Más que una obra de infraestructura, representa una apuesta por brindar espacios más seguros, confortables y humanizados, que permitan ofrecer una atención médica de mayor calidad y acompañar en mejores condiciones a miles de pacientes oncológicos y sus familias durante uno de los momentos más difíciles de sus vidas.
