Gobierno entrega dos ambulancias en Sánchez Ramírez para continuar con el fortalecimiento del sistema de salud
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mines, delivered two ambulances to the Fantino and Cevicos municipalities, in the Sánchez Ramírez province, to strengthen the out-of-hospital service throughout the national territory.
When leading the delivery ceremony, Minister Joel Santos pointed out that the fully equipped units were provided by the National 9-1-1 Emergency Response System and the Out-of-Hospital Emergency Response Directorate (DAEH).
Santos highlighted that Sánchez Ramírez is a mining province par excellence and recalled that President Luis Abinader has been clear that “mineral wealth must become well-being for its people.”
“For this reason, from the Ministry of Energy and Mines we have assumed a commitment that goes beyond our regulatory function, promoting social solutions, strengthening public services and supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life of families in this province,” said the minister.
The head of Energy and Mines listed a series of actions that the Government in Sánchez Ramírez has developed and continues to carry out, through different entities, such as the new tourist highway that borders the Hatillo dam and the construction of the Gold Museum and the Civic Center, both in Cotuí, among other works.
The minister also recalled that the delivery responds to the commitments assumed within the framework of the “Government in the Provinces” program, an initiative that, during 2025, brought State institutions closer to the communities to identify and follow up on their main needs.
"We will continue promoting works, strengthening public services and creating new opportunities for this province. We are convinced that development cannot remain in figures or projects; it must be felt in each community, in each family and in each Dominican," concluded Santos.
The delivery ceremony was attended by the governor of Sánchez Ramírez, Cristiana Rodríguez; the president of the Senate and senator of that district, Ricardo de los Santos, as well as the directors of the DAEH, Juan Manuel Méndez, and the National Health Service (SNS), Julio Landrón. The ambulances were received by the directors of the municipal hospitals of Fantino and Cevicos, Luis Miguel Ramírez and Yasmín Ciriaco.
During their participation, these authorities separately expressed their gratitude to the Ministry of Energy and Mines and highlighted the value that the ambulances will provide for that mining province. They said that these health units “come to fill a great void” and contribute to the social and economic development of the San Ramirenses.
Also present were the vice ministers of Mina, Giovanni Bloise; of Energy, Ricardo Guerrero, and of Energy Security and Infrastructure, Osiris Decena Espinal. Likewise, the deputies of Sánchez Ramírez, Caty Díaz, and Sadoky Duarte attended; the general director of Mining, Ricardo Muñoz; the executive director of the National 9-1-1 Emergency and Security Assistance System, Randolfo Rijo Gómez; the director of the Energy and Mines Cabinet, Carmen Mina.
Likewise, there were the mayors of the Cotuí, Fantino and Cevicos municipalities, José Montilla, Damián Núñez and Edward Contreras; the rector of the Technological University of Cibao Oriental (Uteco), Marilyn Díaz, among others.
The two basic life support units, a Toyota with 4X4 traction, used for inhospitable roads, and the Hyundai Solera 4X2, with enough space for the development of primary and secondary work, have equipment for airway management, manual ventilators, aspirators, defibrillation equipment, multiparameter checks, which take blood pressure, temperature, and the quality of the air that is oxygenated through the oximeters.
It also has equipment for transportation: seven types of stretchers, a wheelchair, for the care of hemorrhages with tourniquets, for the initial treatment of pneumothorax, among other tools to guarantee the life and health of the citizens of Sánchez Ramírez.

Al acto de entrega asistieron la gobernadora de Sánchez Ramírez,Cristiana Rodríguez; el presidente del Senado y senador de esa demarcación,Ricardo de los Santos, así como los directores de la DAEH,Juan Manuel Méndez, y del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS),Julio Landrón. Las ambulancias fueron recibidas por los directores de los hospitales municipales de Fantino y de Cevicos,Luis Miguel Ramírez y Yasmín Ciriaco. Durante su participación, dichas autoridades manifestaron por separado suagradecimiento al Ministerio de Energía y Minasy resaltaron el valor que aportarán las ambulancias para esa provincia minera. Dijeron que esas unidades sanitarias“vienen a llenar un gran vacío”y a contribuir aldesarrollo social y económicode los sanramirenses. También estuvieron los viceministros de Mina,Giovanni Bloise; de Energía,Ricardo Guerrero,y de Seguridad Energética e Infraestructura,Osiris Decena Espinal. Del mismo modo, estuvieron los alcaldes de los municipios Cotuí, Fantino y Cevicos,José Montilla, Damián Núñez y Edward Contreras; la rectora de la Universidad Tecnológica del Cibao Oriental (Uteco),Marilyn Díaz, entre otros. Las dos unidades de soporte vital básico, unaToyota con tracción 4X4, usada para carreteras inhóspitas, y laHyundai Solera 4X2, con bastante espacio para el desarrollo de lostrabajos primarios y secundarios, cuentan con un equipamiento para el manejo de vías aéreas, ventiladores manuales, aspiradores, un equipo de desfibrilación, chequeo de multiparámetros, que toma la presión arterial, la temperatura, la calidad del aire que se oxigena mediante los oxímetros. También, cuenta con equipos para transporte: siete tipos de camillas, silla de ruedas, para la atención de hemorragias con torniquetes, para el tratamiento inicial del neumotórax, entre otras herramientas paragarantizar la vida y la saludde los ciudadanos de Sánchez Ramírez.
