Homs, July 30 (SANA)Syria’sInternal Security Forceshave arrested Faez Abbas Akhal and Nasr Mohammad Ghosn on charges of involvement inwar crimesand participation alongside the institutions of the deposed regime in attacks targeting civilians in the countryside ofHomsprovince.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the two persons admitted during questioning to taking part with armed groups affiliated with the ousted regime’s Military Intelligence Directorate in the siege and assault on the village of Wadi al-Mawla in Tal Kalakh area of western Homs countryside.

The ministry said the attacks resulted in the massacre of 40 civilians, including women and children.

The two criminals have been referred to the Counterterrorism Directorate to complete the investigation and for the necessary legal procedures before being transferred to the competent judicial authorities.

TheMinistry of Interiorsaid it continues efforts to pursue officials and members of the deposed regime accused of war crimes and violations against the Syrian people, reaffirming its commitment to the principle of accountability, advancing the path of transitional justice, and safeguarding the rights of victims and their families.
