Amman, July 30 (SANA)Jordanian air defenses intercepted fiveIranian missilestargeting the Kingdom early Thursday, with no casualties reported, the Jordanian Armed Forces said.

Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted theJordanian Armed Forcesspokesperson as saying that the interception measures were carried out efficiently and professionally, thwarting an attempt to target Jordanian territory.

The spokesperson affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to carry out their duty to protect the Kingdom’s airspace and safeguard its security and sovereignty.

The spokesperson added that the armed forces maintain the highest levels of readiness to respond firmly to any threat targeting the country’s security and the safety of its citizens.

The incident comes amid continued regional escalation. On Wednesday, Jordanian air defenses intercepted Iranian missile attacks targeting the Kingdom, according to the Jordanian Armed Forces.

On Tuesday,Saudi air defensesintercepted several drones launched from Iraqi territory that attempted to target oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.
