Syria’s education minister attends Fourth Kurdistan Education Forum in Erbil
Erbil, July 30 (SANA)Education MinisterMohammed Abdulrahman Turkoparticipated on Thursday in the opening of the FourthKurdistan Education Forum(KEF) inErbil, alongside Iraq’s Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Alan Hama Saeed.Organized by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Alan Hama Saeed, the two-day forum brings together education officials, academics and experts from Iraq, the region and abroad to discuss educational development, innovation and international cooperation.Turko is leading the Syrian delegation to the forum, which is being held on July 30–31, with participants exchanging expertise and exploring ways to improve education systems and strengthen regional partnerships.Ahead of the forum, Turko met with Prime Minister Barzani to discuss expanding cooperation between Syria and the Kurdistan Region in the education sector.According to a statement from Syria’sMinistry of Education,Turko said closer cooperation between the two sides would help enhance educational programs, strengthen institutional capacity and improve the quality of education.He also thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for hosting Syrian students and providing them with access to education, praising its support for Syrian students over recent years. The meeting was attended by Kurdistan Region Education Minister Alan Hama Saeed.Barzani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s readiness to strengthen coordination with the Syrian government, particularly in education, to advance bilateral cooperation and serve shared interests.
