Damascus, July 30 (SANA)Three people were killed and 24 others injured in road accidents and fires to whichSyrian Civil Defenseteams responded across the country over the past 24 hours, the Civil Defense said on Thursday.

The Syrian Civil Defense said it responded to 19 road accidents that left three people dead and 22 others injured. First responders provided emergency medical assistance before transferring the injured to hospitals for further treatment.

Civil Defense teams also tackled 109 fires nationwide. Two civilians were injured and treated at the scene, while the remaining incidents caused material damage only.

The Civil Defense urged the public not to light fires in forests or agricultural fields, discard cigarette butts or glass bottles along roadsides, particularly near crops and wooded areas, or burn dry vegetation around homes and roads. It also called for dry vegetation to be cleared using safe methods to help reduce the risk of wildfires.

On Tuesday, Civil Defense teams responded to incidents that left two people dead and 28 others injured across Syria.
