Saudi Arabia, UAE condemn Iranian attacks on Jordan and the Gulf region

Capitals, July 30 (SANA)Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates condemned Iranian attacks targetingJordanand other countries in theGulf region, calling for an immediate halt to the attacks and stressing the need to safeguard the security and stability of regional countries.

TheSaudi Foreign Ministrysaid in a statement posted Thursday on the X platform that the Kingdom strongly condemned continued Iranian attacks against Jordan, reaffirming its solidarity with Jordan and its support for measures taken by Amman in response to the attacks, which it described as violations of international law and the principles of good-neighborliness.

The ministry stressed the importance of an immediate halt toIranian attacksagainst Jordan and other countries in the region, underscoring the need for serious steps to preserve the security and stability of states and their peoples.

Earlier Thursday, Jordanian air defenses intercepted five Iranian missiles targeting Jordanian territory, with no casualties reported.

Meanwhile,Kuwait’s Defense Ministrysaid an Iranian attack targeted a building belonging to a Chinese company in northern Kuwait, killing one employee and causing significant material damage to the building.

Kuwaiti Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Staff Saud Al Atwan said the relevant authorities immediately took the necessary measures following the incident and dealt with the situation in coordination with the concerned bodies. Authorities continue to take measures to address its aftermath, he added.

The UAE, in turn, condemned renewed drone attacks launched from Iraq and targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, saying the attacks posed a threat to the Kingdom’s security and stability.

In a statement Thursday, theUAE Foreign Ministrydescribed the attacks as a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability, reaffirming the UAE’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and support for measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability.

The developments come amid escalating regional tensions. Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry announced Wednesday that it had carried out precision strikes, in coordination with U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), against an Iran-affiliated militia in Iraq in response to attacks targeting Saudi oil facilities.
