Aleppo, July 29 (SANA)The 14th edition of theShahba Tech 2026InformationTechnology Exhibitionopened Tuesday inAleppo, bringing together technology companies and industry experts to showcase digital innovations and software solutions.

The exhibition, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, aims to revitalize Aleppo’s technology sector while highlighting local providers of digital services and software solutions, Sinan Hatahet, chairman of the Syrian Computer Society, told SANA.

He said Aleppo-based companies are expanding their presence through businesses operating in education, cybersecurity and telecommunications while seeking to reach regional and international markets.

Omar Arnaout, administrative manager at Salam Telecom, said the exhibition provides an opportunity to strengthen the presence of technology companies in Aleppo, expand cooperation among firms and showcase the city’s technical expertise.

Arnaout said the company is preparing to launch a Data Center, which he described as the first of its kind in the region, alongside telecommunications projects being implemented in cooperation with Syria’s national mobile network operators.

Visitors said the exhibition also helps connect recent graduates with employers by giving them the opportunity to engage directly with companies and technology specialists.

Ahmed Aqra, a graduate of the Technical Computer Institute, said visiting the exhibition allowed him to explore the latest technologies and projects presented by exhibitors and better understand the needs of the technology sector, helping him develop practical skills and improve his employment prospects.

Shahba Tech is one of northern Syria’s leading technology exhibitions. This year’s edition aims to support digital transformation, strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors, encourage student innovation projects and better align academic institutions with labor market needs.
