President El-Sisi Speaks with Algerian President Tebboune
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that at the outset of the call, President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Algerian leadership and people in confronting the devastating wildfires that have affected parts of its territory.The President stressed Egypt’s readiness to provide any support needed to assist the brotherly Algerian people during this difficult time.
President El-Sisi also extended his sincere condolences over the victims of the fires, wishing the injured a speedy recovery on behalf of himself and the Egyptian people.
President El-Sisi further underscored the deep-rooted historical ties between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, commending the growing momentum in bilateral cooperation recently.
The President also emphasized the importance of building on this momentum and implementing the understandings and agreements reached by both sides, particularly the outcomes of the Higher Joint Committee meeting held in Cairo in November 2025.
President Tebboune expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to President El-Sisi for initiating this reaffirmation of Egyptian solidarity, leadership and people, with the Algerian people in the current situation.The President of Algeria noted that such support reflects the longstanding and expected stance of Egypt, its leadership, and its brotherly people. President Tebboune also reviewed the intensive efforts undertaken by the Algerian authorities to address the consequences of the wildfires and safeguard the lives and property of citizens. He further highlighted the steady progress in Egyptian-Algerian relations, pointing to the significant opportunities for expanding cooperation across various sectors by leveraging the two countries’ considerable capabilities and human resources.
The two Presidents also discussed a number of regional issues of mutual concern. They reiterated Egypt’s and Algeria’s support for efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful settlement of the Iranian crisis, while rejecting any infringement on the security and sovereignty of fellow Arab states.
The two presidents also agreed on the priority of intensifying international and regional efforts to prevent a return to comprehensive escalation and on maintaining coordination and consultation between Egypt and Algeria on various regional issues in light of the current challenges.
