Lebanon condemns attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and Jordan
Beirut, July29 (SANA)Lebanon on Wednesday strongly condemned attacks targeting the security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia andJordan, reaffirming its solidarity with both countries in the face of threats to their security, stability and territorial integrity.
In a statement posted on X, Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry condemned an attempted drone attack launched from Iraqi territory against oil facilities in Riyadh andSaudi Arabia‘s Eastern Province. The ministry expressed Lebanon’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia’s security and stability.
The ministry welcomed the Iraqi authorities’ decision to open an investigation into the incident, saying efforts to address military activities carried out by non-state actors, particularly in Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, are a shared responsibility. It added that such efforts should enable states to exercise full sovereignty and authority over their territories through their legitimate institutions alone.
In a separate statement, the ministry reiterated its condemnation of Iran’s launch of ballistic missiles toward Jordanian territory, describing the attack as a flagrant violation of Jordan’s sovereignty and a threat to regional security and stability. It reaffirmed Lebanon’s full solidarity with Jordan in safeguarding its security, stability and territorial integrity.
Earlier on Wednesday, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced that it had carried out coordinated strikes with theU.S. Central Commandagainst anIran-backed militiain Iraq in response to attacks targeting Saudi oil facilities.
Jordan’s armed forces also said on Wednesday that the country’s air defenses intercepted Iranian missiles targeting the Kingdom.
