Singapore, July 29 (SANA)Ship traffic through theBab al-Mandeb Straitrose to its highest level in a week on Tuesday, while vessel movements through theStrait of Hormuzremained limited, according to preliminary shipping data.

Data fromvessel-tracking firm Kplershowed that 39 commodity vessels transited the Bab al-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday, the highest daily total since July 19. Twenty vessels entered the waterway and 17 exited, including three crude oil tankers.

By Wednesday, five vessels had passed through the strait, two of them carryingcrude oil. They were identified as the very large crude carrier Sophia and the medium-range tanker Ocean Loret.

Among vessels entering the Bab al-Mandeb on Tuesday were two tankers carryingpetrochemical products.

The data may not reflect all vessel movements, as some ships could be operating with their transponders switched off.

Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remained comparatively light. Kpler data showed that eightcargo vesselstransited the strait on Tuesday, with five entering and three leaving, while one vessel had crossed the waterway by Wednesday.
