Syria, Iraq’s Kurdistan Region discuss expanding education cooperation
Erbil, July 29 (SANA)Syria’s Minister of Education MohammedAbdul Rahman Turkodiscussed with IraqiKurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzanion Wednesday expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise in the education sector ahead of the Fourth Kurdistan Education Forum inErbil.
Turko said stronger cooperation betweenSyria’s Ministry of Educationand the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Education would help advance educational programs, build institutional capacity and improve the quality of education, according to a ministry statement.
He also thanked theKurdistan Regional Governmentfor hosting Syrian students and providing them with access to education, praising its support for Syrian students over recent years. The meeting was attended by Kurdistan Region Education Minister Alan Hama Saeed.
Barzanisaid the Kurdistan Regional Government was ready to strengthen coordination with the Syrian government, particularly in education, to support bilateral ties and shared interests.
Turko is leading the Syrian delegation to the Fourth Kurdistan Education Forum, which is being held in Erbil on July 30 and 31 with the participation of education officials and experts from several countries.
