Directoraat Veeteelt brengt veeteeltinformatie dichter bij de gemeenschap tijdens Mini Info Beurs in Saramacca
The Livestock Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (LVV) participated on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the Mini Info Fair of the Suriname Police Force (KPS), which was held simultaneously with the KPS Community Sports Day at the fairground in Groningen in the Saramacca district. With this participation, the directorate underlined the importance of accessible information and close involvement with the community.
The Mini Info Fair was all about providing practical information to citizens. For the Livestock Directorate, the event provided a valuable opportunity to directly inform Saramacca residents about various livestock issues and advise them on sustainable and responsible livestock farming. In addition to the Livestock Directorate, the LVV Saramacca district office and various other organizations and companies, including FAI, also participated in the information market.
The event was organized by KPS Saramacca Region in collaboration with the Saramacca District Commissioner and had the theme “Moving together for a safe and healthy community.” At the official opening, Minister Harish Monorath of Justice and Police, Minister Dirk Currie of Education, Science and Culture and District Commissioner Aniel Ramautar of Saramacca were present.
During the day, visitors could take part in various sporting activities, including football and batting matches, which attracted a lot of public interest. In the afternoon a walking and jogging run took place in which participants from various districts took part. Both Minister Harish Monorath and District Commissioner Aniel Ramautar participated to emphasize the importance of a healthy lifestyle, sufficient exercise and strong cooperation between government, police and society.
For the Ministry of LVV, the Mini Info Fair was an excellent platform to further strengthen contact with society. By engaging directly with citizens and sharing expert information, the Livestock Directorate contributes to a better informed community and to the further development of a sustainable livestock sector in Suriname.
Initiatives like these not only share knowledge, but also promote cooperation between government agencies and the community. In this way, all partners involved jointly make a valuable contribution to a safe, healthy and resilient society.

Het Directoraat Veeteelt van het ministerie van Landbouw, Veeteelt en Visserij (LVV) heeft op zaterdag 25 juli 2026 deelgenomen aan de Mini Info Beurs van het Korps Politie Suriname (KPS), die gelijktijdig werd gehouden met de KPS Gemeenschapssportdag op het kermisterrein te Groningen in het district Saramacca. Met deze deelname onderstreepte het directoraat het belang van toegankelijke voorlichting en een nauwe betrokkenheid bij de gemeenschap. De Mini Info Beurs stond in het teken van het verstrekken van praktische informatie aan burgers. Voor het Directoraat Veeteelt bood het evenement een waardevolle gelegenheid om inwoners van Saramacca rechtstreeks te informeren over uiteenlopende veeteeltaangelegenheden en hen te adviseren over duurzame en verantwoorde veehouderij. Naast het Directoraat Veeteelt namen ook het ressortskantoor van LVV Saramacca en diverse andere organisaties en bedrijven, waaronder FAI, deel aan de informatiemarkt. Het evenement werd georganiseerd door KPS Gewest Saramacca in samenwerking met het Districtscommissariaat Saramacca en had als thema“Samen bewegen voor een veilige en gezonde gemeenschap.”Bij de officiële opening waren onder anderen minister Harish Monorath van Justitie en Politie, minister Dirk Currie van Onderwijs, Wetenschap en Cultuur en districtscommissaris Aniel Ramautar van Saramacca aanwezig. Gedurende de dag konden bezoekers deelnemen aan verschillende sportactiviteiten, waaronder voetbal- en slagbalwedstrijden, die op veel belangstelling van het publiek mochten rekenen. In de namiddag vond een wandel- en trimloop plaats waaraan deelnemers uit diverse districten deelnamen. Zowel minister Harish Monorath als districtscommissaris Aniel Ramautar liepen mee om het belang van een gezonde leefstijl, voldoende lichaamsbeweging en een sterke samenwerking tussen overheid, politie en samenleving te benadrukken. Voor het ministerie van LVV vormde de Mini Info Beurs een uitstekend platform om het contact met de samenleving verder te versterken. Door rechtstreeks in gesprek te gaan met burgers en deskundige informatie te delen, draagt het Directoraat Veeteelt bij aan een beter geïnformeerde gemeenschap en aan de verdere ontwikkeling van een duurzame veehouderijsector in Suriname. Met initiatieven als deze wordt niet alleen kennis gedeeld, maar wordt ook de samenwerking tussen overheidsinstanties en de gemeenschap bevorderd. Daarmee leveren alle betrokken partners gezamenlijk een waardevolle bijdrage aan een veilige, gezonde en veerkrachtige samenleving.
