The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (LVV) remains committed to food security, healthy nutrition and social involvement. In this context, on July 27, 2026, the Wanica-A/Kwatta district office, under the leadership of district coordinator Pritviraj Kalidien and with the support of Minister Mike Noersalim, presented a donation of 100 vegetable plants to the Esther Foundation.
The donation consisted of various vegetable crops, including ocher, pepper, antroewa, tomato and cabbage. With this contribution, LVV not only wants to stimulate healthy and sustainable food production, but also strengthen awareness of food security and food safety. By growing your own vegetables, you are introduced to agriculture and the importance of fresh, nutritious food in a practical and inspiring way.
The Esther Foundation has played an important social role for many years by providing care, guidance and housing to former and isolated patients affected by leprosy or tuberculosis. For this target group, having your own vegetable garden not only contributes to a varied and healthy diet, but also offers meaningful daily activities, promotes self-reliance and strengthens the sense of involvement and self-esteem.
With the support of Minister Mike Noersalim, the ministry underlines the importance of cooperation with social institutions that work daily for vulnerable groups in society. This donation shows that agriculture is not only an economic pillar, but also a powerful means of promoting health, well-being and social connection.
LVV remains committed to initiatives that contribute to a healthy, sustainable and food-secure society, in which no one is forgotten.
Notes
