Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Chair Expanded Bilateral Talks ••••• Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi and the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, chaired the expanded bilateral talks held this evening, Tuesday, at the Presidential Complex in the Turkish capital, Ankara. The talks covered a number of issues of mutual interest, including the commencement of the implementation of the strategic Development Road Project, as well as matters relating to the oil, water, energy, security, trade, transportation, and education sectors. The discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation and expanding joint projects between the two countries, in addition to agreeing on the regular convening of the standing committee responsible for the water file. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation and gratitude to President Erdoğan and the Republic of Türkiye for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. He noted that Iraq and Türkiye share deep geographical and civilizational ties, and affirmed that the Iraqi government seeks to establish an effective economic partnership across various economic and development sectors. The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to moving forward with the implementation of the strategic Development Road Project, which will serve as a vital economic corridor for both countries. He reiterated the government’s desire to see Turkish companies participate in implementing investment projects in Iraq. For his part, President Erdoğan renewed his welcome to Prime Minister Al-Zaidi and the accompanying delegation, affirming the growing shared commitment to cooperation across all fields and to further strengthening bilateral relations.
