Syria, China discuss economic, industrial cooperation
Damascus, July 28 (SANA)Minister ofEconomy and IndustryNidal al-Shaar met on Tuesday with Chinese Ambassador to Syria Shi Hongwei to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various economic and industrial sectors in service of mutual interests and to support development andinvestmentopportunities.
Both sides stressed during the meeting at the ministry’s headquarters the importance of expanding economic partnership horizons, as well as strengthening coordination and expertise exchange to support development projects and open new areas for cooperation between Syria andChinain the coming period.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Economy and Industry to enhance coordination and cooperation with Arab and international partners to supporteconomic developmentopportunities in Syria and the path ofeconomic recovery.
Earlier Tuesday, Minister al-Shaar discussed with Egyptian Chargé d’Affaires in Damascus Mohamed el-Feki ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between Syria andEgyptand mechanisms to developbilateral relationsin service of mutual interests.
Syria and China have maintained diplomatic and economic ties, with China expressing interest in participating in Syria’s reconstruction efforts following the fall of the deposed regime.
