President El-Sisi Speaks with President of Tunisia Saied

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke over the phone with President of Tunisia Kais Saied.

Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said the phone call was part of the ongoing coordination between the two countries and the two Presidents. President El-Sisi congratulated the Tunisian leadership and people on the 69thanniversary of the declaration of the Tunisian Republic. The President noted the robust fraternal relations between the two countries, which are grounded in a shared history and deep-rooted ties that bind the two brotherly peoples. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Tunisia. President El-Sisi also emphasized Egypt's solidarity with Tunisia in confronting the fires that have affected parts of its territory, affirming Egypt's full readiness to provide the necessary support in this regard. The President reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation and implementing the outcomes of the Joint Higher Committee and existing cooperation mechanisms, so as to translate the political momentum in the two countries’ relations into tangible results that serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Tunisian President Saied expressed great appreciation for the President's commitment to bolstering bilateral relations and intensifying political consultations and coordination across all levels. The Tunisian President also congratulated President El-Sisi and the Egyptian people on the 74thanniversary of the glorious July Revolution. Moreover, President Saied reviewed Tunisia’s efforts to combat the fires and preserve the state's resources and the safety and property of its citizens, expressing his deep appreciation for President El-Sisi’s solidarity and support in this regard.

The call also focused on regional and international developments of mutual concern. President El-Sisi pointed out the gravity of the current situation in light of the renewed tensions in the region, warning of the potential negative consequences should the situation once again escalate into a broader conflict. Furthermore, the President reviewed Egypt's efforts to bring the positions of the concerned parties closer together. In this context, the two Presidents stressed the critical importance of prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions and of working toward de-escalating tensions and containing the situation in order to prevent the crises from expanding and to preserve regional security and stability. President El-Sisi and the Tunisian President also agreed on the urgent need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and enhance coordination and consultations on various regional issues, particularly in light of the current challenges.
