Superintendencia de Bancos presenta archivo histórico sobre la evolución del sistema financiero dominicano
Santo Domingo.-The Superintendency of Banks (SB) presented Chronology SB, a digital platform that preserves and makes available to the public the historical memory of the institution and the Dominican financial system.
Available through the SB website, the microportal integrates historical information, statistics, press publications and reference documents that allow us to understand the evolution of the financial sector and the supervisory body over almost eight decades.
One of its main components is the financial system statistics module, which offers access to historical indicators on Dominican banking since 1947, accompanied by interactive visualization tools to facilitate their analysis and interpretation.
Likewise, the press publications section allows you to explore historical journalistic records, through advanced searches and thematic filters that allow you to view results on a timeline and export information for academic, journalistic or research purposes.
The microportal also incorporates a digital document archive, from which users can consult and download reports, specialized publications, regulations and other materials that are part of the institution's documentary collection.
As part of this initiative, the SB also makes available the Superintendents Gallery, a space dedicated to the careers of those who have led the institution and contributed to the strengthening, stability and modernization of the financial system of the Dominican Republic.
During the presentation of the platform, the Superintendent of Banks, Alejandro Fernández W., highlighted that SB Chronology constitutes an effort to preserve the documentary heritage of the financial sector and bring it closer to researchers, teachers, students, journalists and citizens interested in the economic history of the country.
"With Chronology SB we reaffirm a commitment to transparency, the preservation of institutional memory and access to knowledge. This space not only documents the past, but also provides tools to understand its evolution," said Fernández.
The activity included the participation of the writer José Alcántara Almánzar, cultural deputy manager of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic; Hipólito Batista, head of the Public Services Division of the Central Bank, and the researcher Riamny María Méndez, in addition to personnel from the institution.
