Abu Dhabi, July 26 (SANA)UAE Foreign MinisterAbdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyandiscussed developments in the Middle East and efforts to support regional security and stability during a phone call on Saturday withCanadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand.

According to a statement issued by theUAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers also reviewed issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Canada.

Bin Zayeddescribed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries as a strategic step toward expanding economic ties, saying the swift conclusion of negotiations reflected both sides’ commitment to deepening cooperation, advancing development priorities and promoting shared prosperity.

The call came hours after the UAE and Canada announced they had concluded negotiations on the CEPA and finalized the agreement’s terms.

The agreement is expected to boost trade and investment across key sectors, including clean energy, advanced technology, aviation, food and agriculture, and critical minerals. It also provides for tariff reductions and expanded market access for both countries.

The CEPA is expected to support further growth in non-oil trade between the UAE and Canada, which reached approximately $4.2 billion in 2025, while encouraging investment in major projects, including ports, mining and data centers.
