Damascus, July 26 (SANA)United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres affirmed that the Syrian people have demonstrated extraordinary resilience throughout years of hardship, stressing that they should not bear the burden of recovery alone.

In a post on X on Sunday, Guterres called on the international community to match the determination of the Syrian people through sustained political support, meaningful economic engagement, and practical assistance to advance the country’s national recovery efforts.

Earlier on Sunday, during a press conference in Damascus at the conclusion of his visit to Syria, Guterres reaffirmed that the United Nations stands alongside the Syrian people at this pivotal stage. He urged the international community to intensify its political, economic, and humanitarian support for Syria in order to help advance recovery and reconstruction efforts.
