Kuwait City, July 26 (SANA)Kuwait on Sunday condemned repeated attacks byYemen’s Houthi militiaon commercial shipping in the Red Sea, including the latest strike on the Saudi-operated vessel NCC MASA, calling the attacks a violation of international law and a threat to global maritime security and trade.In a statement carried by the state news agency KUNA,Kuwait’s Foreign Ministryreaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and backed measures taken by the kingdom to protect its sovereignty, security and national interests.The ministry also called for safeguarding freedom of navigation and adherence to international law to preserve regional stability and ensure the uninterrupted flow of international trade.Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Transport said on Friday that the NCC MASA sustained minor hull damage after being targeted while sailing in the Red Sea. The authority said the vessel continued its voyage after inspections confirmed it was seaworthy and its crew was unharmed.The incident came after the Houthi militia escalated threats against shipping through the Bab al-Mandab Strait by announcing what they described as a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia, prompting widespread condemnation from Arab states and the international community.
