Qatar, Saudi Arabia discuss regional de-escalation and security efforts

Doha, July 26 (SANA)Qatari Foreign MinisterMohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thanidiscussed the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and strengthening regional security and stability during a telephone conversation withSaudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saudon Sunday.

According to theQatarNews Agency (QNA), Al Thani stressed the importance of all parties adhering to dialogue and diplomacy and implementing the commitments agreed under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.

He said this includes ensuring freedom of navigation through theStrait of Hormuzto help safeguard regional security, preserve the gains already achieved and reinforce regional stability.

Qatari minister stressed the need for all parties to all pursue dialogue and diplomacy and implement the provisions agreed under theUS-Iran memorandum of understanding, including guaranteeing freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

He said such measures were essential to safeguarding regional security, preserving the progress achieved and strengthening stability.

Al Thani reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that would achieve lasting peace in the region.

On Saturday, the Qatari foreign minister also emphasized the importance of implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between theUnited States and Iran.
