Presidente Abinader inaugura Hospital Hacienda Estrella renovado
Santo Domingo Norte.–President Luis Abinaderinaugurated this Saturday the renovated and expanded Hacienda Estrella Municipal Hospital, a modern health infrastructure that, starting today, strengthens medical care in the municipal district and guarantees dignified, timely and higher quality health services to more than 60,000 inhabitants, as part of the Government's actions to continue strengthening the Public Health Network, expand the response capacity of hospital centers and bring services closer together. modern, efficient and humanized doctors to the communities.
During the event, the president urged the community to take responsibility for the care and preservation of the new facilities, highlighting that the hospital represents a heritage of the entire community and a fundamental tool to guarantee quality health services to present and future generations.
Likewise, he proposed the formation of an oversight commission made up of representatives of different social sectors of the town, with the purpose of monitoring the operation of the center, ensuring its proper use and contributing to the proper maintenance of this important health work.
The president announced that, before the end of 2026, the Government will begin important works to promote the development of the community, including the construction of an aqueduct, two sports roofs: one in Hacienda Estrella and another in Guanuma, in addition to the paving of the main streets of the municipal district.
Government has delivered 116 renovated health centers to strengthen health care
Also speaking at the event was the executive director of the National Health Service, Dr. Julio César Landrón, who highlighted that the transformation of the hospital responds to President Luis Abinader's vision of continuing to strengthen the public health system by modernizing the hospital infrastructure throughout the national territory, reporting that during the current government administration, 116 renovated health centers have been delivered, as part of a policy aimed at offering care with greater quality, safety and efficiency.
"Each work we deliver represents President Luis Abinader's commitment to bringing quality health services to the people. At Hacienda Estrella, today we deliver a more modern hospital, with a fully equipped Emergency Room and adequate spaces to offer more humane, timely and safe care," said Landrón.
Dr. Landrón added that the intervention will expand the hospital's resolution capacity and significantly reduce the need for referrals to other centers, thanks to the incorporation of new areas and better conditions for both patients and medical staff.
The intervention, executed by the National Health Service (SNS), represented an investment of more than RD 103.7 million allocated to the comprehensive renovation of the hospital, the construction of a new Emergency area and the equipment of the center.
The work included the rehabilitation of the pharmacy areas, vaccination, specialized offices, operating room, delivery room, recovery, confinement with ten beds, nursing, laboratory, X-ray, sonography and administrative areas.
The new Emergency has a waiting and registration room, triage, treatment area, nebulization, observation, resuscitation box, nursing station and general medicine, pediatrics and gynecology offices, among other spaces designed to offer more efficient, humanized and safe care.
This intervention strengthens the resolution capacity of the hospital center, improves access to timely health services for the residents of Hacienda Estrella and nearby communities, contributes to decongesting other hospitals in the area and increases the response capacity of the national health system.
After the opening ceremony, President Abinader toured the hospital facilities, where he received explanations about the operation of the new areas and the services that will be available to the population.
The blessing of the work was carried out by Father José Manuel de Jesús, who expressed the community's satisfaction with the inauguration of the hospital and stated that its delivery represents “an answered prayer” for the inhabitants of Hacienda Estrella.
The governor of the province of Santo Domingo, Lucrecia Santana Leyba, the director of the Metropolitan Regional Health Service (SRSM), Dr. Edisson Féliz Féliz, participated in the activity; the director of the Hacienda Estrella Municipal Hospital, María Arias; the director of the Hacienda Estrella municipal district, Miguel Saviñón, as well as civil and community authorities and representatives of the health sector.

La intervención, ejecutada por elServicio Nacional de Salud(SNS), representó una inversión superior a losRD 103.7 millonesdestinados al remozamiento integral del hospital, la construcción de una nueva área de Emergencia y el equipamiento del centro. Los trabajos incluyeron la rehabilitación de las áreas de farmacia, vacunación, consultorios especializados, quirófano, sala de partos, recuperación, internamiento con diez camas, enfermería, laboratorio, rayos X, sonografía y áreas administrativas. La nueva Emergencia cuenta con sala de espera y registro, triaje, área de curas, nebulización, observación, box de reanimación, estación de enfermería y consultorios de medicina general, pediatría y ginecología, entre otros espacios diseñados para ofrecer una atenciónmás eficiente, humanizada y segura. Con esta intervención se fortalece la capacidad resolutiva del centro hospitalario, semejora el accesoa servicios de saludoportunospara los residentes de Hacienda Estrella y comunidades cercanas, se contribuye a descongestionar otros hospitales de la zona y seeleva la capacidad de respuestadel sistema sanitario nacional. Tras el acto inaugural, el presidente Abinader recorrió las instalaciones del hospital, donde recibió explicaciones sobre elfuncionamientode las nuevas áreas y los servicios que estarán disponibles para la población. La bendición de la obra estuvo a cargo delpadre José Manuel de Jesús, quien expresó la satisfacción de la comunidad por la inauguración del hospital y afirmó que su entrega representa “una oración respondida”para los habitantes de Hacienda Estrella.
