Che Róga Porã cumple dos años ampliando oportunidades para acceder a la casa propia
The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, at the Cultural Center of the Port of Asunción, the inauguration of the Che Róga Porã Expo & Forum, organized on the occasion of the second anniversary of the housing program promoted by the Government of Paraguay. He was accompanied by the Minister of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat, Juan Carlos Baruja; the president of the Financial Development Agency (AFD), Stella Guillén; national authorities, representatives of the financial system, real estate developers, construction companies and companies linked to the sector.
Two years after its creation, Che Róga Porãse consolidated itself as a public policy aimed at facilitating access to housing for the working middle class through loans with preferential conditions. Since its launch, the program has evolved by incorporating new financing modalities, expanding its coverage to Paraguayans residing abroad and strengthening the coordination between the State, the financial system and the private sector to respond to the growing demand for housing solutions.
A program that continues to grow
During his speech, the President recalled that access to housing was one of the commitments assumed at the beginning of his administration and stated that Che Róga Porã was born so that families can replace paying rent with the construction of their own assets.
«Today there are 6,600 families that have already taken the first step. “We want all Paraguayans who today live in rent to be able to replace that rent with their own house,” he expressed.
Likewise, he highlighted that the program is the result of years of institutional strengthening and joint work between the Government, the Financial Development Agency, financial entities and the private sector. In this context, he announced that the Government has already begun efforts to expand the financing line, given the high demand registered since the launch of the program.
Currently, more than 6,700 families have started the process to access their first home through Che Róga Porã. The program offers long-term financing with preferential rates and brings together financial entities, real estate developers and construction companies to facilitate access to housing solutions adapted to the needs of citizens.
Minister Juan Carlos Baruja highlighted that the program made it possible to turn into a reality a proposal that for years seemed impossible for the Paraguayan working class. He pointed out that the success of Che Róga Porã responds to the coordination between public institutions, the financial system and the private sector, and stressed that the transparency of the process guarantees that families access credits without intermediaries or privileges.
For her part, the president of the AFD, Stella Guillén, stated that the evolution of Che Róga Porã was possible thanks to permanent listening to the needs of citizens. He explained that the improvements incorporated during these two years made it possible to expand the scope of the program and strengthen a public policy that, in addition to facilitating access to housing, generates opportunities, employment and hope for thousands of Paraguayan families.
With initiatives such as Che Róga Porã, the Government of Paraguay continues to promote public policies aimed at expanding access to housing, strengthening financing for the working middle class and promoting economic development through coordination between the State and the private sector.

Queremos que todos los paraguayos que hoy viven en alquiler puedan reemplazar ese alquiler por una casa propia», expresó. Asimismo, resaltó que el programa es resultado de años de fortalecimiento institucional y del trabajo conjunto entre el Gobierno, la Agencia Financiera de Desarrollo, las entidades financieras y el sector privado. En ese contexto, anunció queel Gobierno ya inició las gestiones para ampliar la línea de financiamiento, ante la alta demanda registrada desde la puesta en marcha del programa. El programa ofrece financiamiento de largo plazo con tasas preferenciales y reúne a entidades financieras, desarrolladores inmobiliarios y constructoras para facilitar el acceso a soluciones habitacionales adaptadas a las necesidades de la ciudadanía.
