Beirut, July 25 (SANA)Lebanese Economy and Trade Minister,Amer Bisat, said his recent visit toSyrialaid the groundwork for broader economic cooperation and investment in key sectors, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening bilateral ties.
Speaking after meeting Lebanese PresidentJoseph Aounon Friday, Bisat said the meeting addressed the results of his visit to Damascus, which followed up on the path initiated by Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s visit to Syria last May.
He noted that work is underway on three main tracks to advance bilateral economic relations, covering investment opportunities and technical issues, particularly border crossings, adding that priority would be given to electricity, gas transmission, ports and infrastructure projects discussed earlier with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
“Cooperation is expected to expand later to construction, services and other sectors to support economic integration between Syria andLebanon,” Bisat said.
Earlier this month, Bisat and the accompanying Lebanese delegation met Syrian officials in Damascus to discuss expanding economic and trade cooperation and advancing partnerships serving the interests of both countries.kA.MZN
