HE The President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, led this Friday the signing of the indications to the bill that modifies various legal bodies with the aim of modernizing the incentive system, extending the career for future income to Carabineros de Chile and strengthening the management of the institution. The project incorporates five main axes to strengthen Carabineros. Among them, it contemplates the increase in the stipend for the institution's students, the strengthening of incentives for the permanence of personnel, the incorporation of civil servants to perform administrative tasks and release troops for operational functions, a plan to renew security and technology equipment, and the implementation of a management control system that allows optimizing police deployment in the field. During the activity, the President highlighted the permanent commitment of Carabineros with the protection of Chileans, especially in the context of the frontal system that affects different areas of the country. Entre ellos, contempla el aumento del estipendio para los alumnos de la institución, el fortalecimiento de incentivos para la permanencia del personal, la incorporación de funcionarios civiles para desempeñar labores administrativas y liberar efectivos para funciones operativas, un plan de renovación de equipamiento de seguridad y tecnología, y la implementación de un sistema de control de gestión que permita optimizar el despliegue policial en terreno.Durante la actividad, el Mandatario destacó el compromiso permanente de Carabineros con la protección de los chilenos, especialmente en el contexto del sistema frontal que afecta a distintas zonas del país. “Fueron ustedes, nuestros Carabineros de Chile, los que sostuvieron con patriotismo y lealtad la seguridad de nuestra nación. En todo momento, incluso ahora que estamos sufriendo con este temporal, la seguridad del país nunca estuvo en duda, porque junto con rescatar a personas y comunicar a personas aisladas, ustedes se vieron resguardando la seguridad de nuestra patria”, señaló.El jefe de Estado también indicó que como Gobierno "no venimos a plantear un bono, no, venimos a saldar una deuda que va mucho más allá de un bono. Es reconocer desde el inicio de la vocación hasta el término de la carrera, el reconocimiento que les tiene la patria. A quienes entran a la escuela de formación los vamos a reconocer y también vamos a retribuir, como corresponde esa vocación y ese esfuerzo y sacrificio que realizan, dejando sus hogares, viajando a largas distancias para poder formarse y ser buenos servidores públicos.Por su parte, el ministro de Seguridad, Martín Arrau, que como Gobierno "no queremos solamente más carabineros. Los queremos mejor preparados, mejor equipados y mejor protegidos. Por eso, el Gobierno ha presentado un paquete legislativo y ha puesto urgencias para avanzar en reglas claras y robustas sobre el uso de la fuerza, resguardar la Ley Naín-Retamal frente a algunos que quieren desproteger a nuestras policías, y dar urgencias a las RUF para fortalecer la protección jurídica de quienes actúan conforme a la ley.
