Montevideo, July 24 (SANA)Uruguayan footballer Bruno Betancor has died at the age of 22 after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest, his club Deportivo Italiano said on Thursday.

The death was also confirmed byUruguay‘s Association of Professional Football Players, which extended its condolences to the player’s family and loved ones.

Betancor, who was part of Peñarol’s 2023 Uruguayan league title-winning squad, was playing for Deportivo Italiano at the time of his death.
