Damascus, July 24 (SANA)Syrian Internal Security Forces arrested 16 wanted suspects during a large-scale security operation in several areas south of the capital, Damascus, targeting individuals  involved of drug trafficking, arms dealing and other criminal activities.

Interior Ministrysaid in a statement that the operation also resulted in the seizure of narcotics, hand grenades, weapons and ammunition.

The detainees were referred to the competent authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings, while the seized items were taken into custody.
