Drug Enforcement Department seizes 160,000 Captagon pills, arrests three in Aleppo
Aleppo, July 24 (SANA)TheDrug Enforcement Department(DED) branch in Aleppo arrested three individuals involved in drug trafficking in the Suleiman al-Halabi neighborhood, seizing approximately 28 kilograms of Captagon pills, equivalent to about 160,000 pills, the Interior Ministry’s Drug Enforcement Department said Friday.
The operation was carried out following a carefully planned ambush in the neighborhood, resulting in the arrest of the three suspects. One of them sustained fractures after falling while attempting to flee, according to a ministry statement.
The detainees have been referred to the competent judiciary for further investigation and legal proceedings, the Department added.
The operation is part of ongoing security efforts by the Drug Enforcement Department across various provinces to pursue those involved in drug trafficking and distribution, as part of the Interior Ministry’s broader efforts to curb this scourge, enhance security and protect society.
