Damascus, July 23 (SANA)Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Basil al-Suwaidan, discussed on Thursday, with Jordanian Ambassador in Damascus, Sufyan al-Qudah, and an accompanying delegation way to enhance agricultural cooperation between the two countries, develop mechanisms for exchanging agricultural products, and simplify procedures.

The two sides addressed opportunities for joint agricultural investment betweenSyria and Jordanand the role of the private sector in expanding cooperation to add value to the agricultural sector in both countries.

Minister al-Suwaidan emphasized Syria’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with neighboring and Arab countries and enhancing agricultural integration to support production, facilitate product exchange, and bolster Arab food security.

For his part, the Jordanian Ambassador affirmed his government’s commitment to developing relations with Syria, noting the importance of the agricultural sector in achieving food security and self-sufficiency.
