INABIE alcanza el 38 % en la entrega de utilería escolar a los distritos educativos
Santo Domingo.- The National Institute for Student Welfare (INABIE) reached 38% in the distribution of school supplies to educational districts for the 2026-2027 school year. To date, the institution has delivered 678,925 school kits.
With the deliveries made so far, INABIE completed the shipment of school supplies in all of the educational districts of the National District and the provinces of Santo Domingo, Santiago, Bahoruco and Barahona.
School supplies have been shipped to 33 educational districts, covering 1,574 schools. From the districts, the directors of the educational centers remove the materials to coordinate their delivery to the students through their parents or guardians.
INABIE reported that the dispatch of the props will continue progressively until 100% of the country's educational districts are completed, in accordance with the established planning.
For this school year, the Dominican Government will benefit 1,806,872 students in the public education system with the provision of school kits in 6,577 educational centers.
The free delivery of supplies and uniforms represents an estimated saving of between RD 3,864 and RD 5,433 per student, which will directly impact more than 1.4 million families throughout the country.

The executive director of INABIE, Adolfo Pérez, highlighted that the distribution process began several months in advance with the aim of guaranteeing that the materials reach the students in a timely manner before the start of the next school year.
INABIE reported that each student must receive a school kit with the essential supplies to attend classes, organized according to educational level.
For the beginning level, the kit includes a backpack with a sketchbook, colored pencils, pencil sharpener and charcoal pencil. At the basic and secondary levels, it contains a backpack with three notebooks, colored pencils, pencil sharpener, charcoal pencil, eraser, set of pencils and ruler.
In addition, at all levels a uniform is included consisting of a pair of white socks, a light blue polo shirt, navy blue pants and a pair of shoes.
Dispatch logistics and business support
The institution explained that the distribution process is carried out through logistics that begins in the INABIE warehouses, continues with the transfer to authorized collection centers in the educational districts and concludes in the schools, where the directors collect the kits for later delivery to the students.
The process includes a control protocol that records the complete delivery of each kit, as well as the preparation of forms and reports that document each phase. These documents are subsequently sent by the educational districts and regions.
INABIE highlighted that the school supplies program also boosts the national economy by hiring micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), as well as other textile industry companies in charge of manufacturing school supplies.
With this initiative, the institution contributes to school permanence and the reduction of the economic burden on families, by guaranteeing that students have the necessary resources to continue their academic training process.

Para el nivel inicial, el kit incluye una mochila con cuaderno de dibujo, lápices de colores, sacapuntas y lápiz de carbón. En los niveles básico y secundario, contiene una mochila con tres cuadernos, lápices de colores, sacapuntas, lápiz de carbón, goma de borrar, juego de cartabones y regla. Además,en todos los niveles se incluye un uniformecompuesto por un par de medias blancas, un polocher azul celeste, un pantalón azul marino y un par de zapatos. Logística de despacho y apoyo a las empresas La institución explicó que el proceso de distribución se realiza mediante unalogísticaque inicia en losalmacenes del INABIE,continúa con el traslado haciacentros de acopiohabilitados en los distritos educativos y concluye en loscentros escolares, donde los directores retiran los kits para su posteriorentrega a los estudiantes. El proceso incluye unprotocolo de controlque registra la entrega completa de cada kit, así como el levantamiento deformularios e informes que documentan cada fase. Estos documentos son remitidos posteriormente por los distritos y las regionales educativas. El INABIE resaltó que el programa de utilería escolar también impulsa la economía nacional mediante lacontratación micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (mipymes), asícomo de otras compañías de laindustria textilencargadas de la confección de los artículos escolares. Con esta iniciativa, la institución contribuye a lapermanencia escolary a lareducción de la carga económica de las familias, al garantizar que los estudiantes dispongan de los recursos necesarios para continuar su proceso de formación académica.
