ETED culminará reconducción de línea de 69 kV en Puerto Plata para fortalecer confiabilidad del sistema eléctrico
Puerto Plata.–The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) reported that this Saturday, July 25, from 7:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon, it will carry out the fourth and final stage of the reconduction work of the 69 kV Puerto Plata I – Puerto Plata II transmission line, which will conclude a strategic intervention to strengthen the electrical infrastructure of the province and increase the energy transportation capacity in the northern area of the country.
After completing three consecutive days of work, the project registers 80% progress. With this last stage, the 3.5 kilometers of the transmission line will be rehabilitated, incorporating conductors with greater capacity that will allow more energy to be transported, improve the reliability of the system and respond more efficiently to the growth in electrical demand in Puerto Plata.
As part of this comprehensive day of strengthening the transmission infrastructure, the ETED will also carry out major bus maintenance at the 69 kV Puerto Plata substation and will open the 69 kV Playa Dorada – Puerto Plata transmission line to facilitate these tasks. These interventions will reinforce the operational security of the system and will contribute to a more robust and reliable transmission network for the province.
To carry out these works, it will be necessary to intervene in the electrical service in the communities of Puerto Plata, Cristo Rey, Padre Las Casas, Montemar urbanization, Los Mameyes, Ensanche Dubeaux, Florida urbanization, Arcoíris urbanization and Gregorio Luperón urbanization.
Likewise, due to major bus maintenance at the 69 kV Puerto Plata substation, it will be necessary to intervene in the electrical service in the province of Puerto Plata, partially in the Don Pedro community, belonging to the Santiago province, in Sabaneta de Yásica, belonging to the Puerto Plata province, as well as in the Puerto Plata Distribución company.
Likewise, due to the opening of the 69 kV Playa Dorada – Puerto Plata transmission line, the electrical service in the communities of La Colonia, Barrio La Paz, Costa Azul, Punta Goleta, Las Espinas and Rocón will be affected. Temporarily, the communities La Hoya, Palo Colorado, La Vereda, El Mango, Blanco Arriba, Jobo Arriba, La Cigua and Arroyo Blanco, belonging to the province of Puerto Plata, will also be impacted.
The completion of this project represents an important advance in strengthening the transmission network of the northern zone, by having an infrastructure with greater capacity, prepared to accompany the energy, tourism, commercial and economic growth of Puerto Plata, contributing to offering a safer, more stable and efficient electrical service.
The ETED appreciates the understanding of citizens during the development of these tasks, which are part of its commitment to the modernization of the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI), through the expansion and strengthening of the transmission infrastructure for the benefit of all Dominicans.

Con esta última etapa quedarán rehabilitados los 3.5 kilómetros de la línea de transmisión, incorporandoconductores de mayor capacidadque permitirán transportarmás energía, mejorar laconfiabilidaddel sistema y responder de manera más eficiente alcrecimiento de la demanda eléctrica en Puerto Plata. Como parte de esta jornada integral de fortalecimiento de la infraestructura de transmisión, la ETEDtambién ejecutará un mantenimiento mayora barra en la subestación 69 kV Puerto Plata y realizará la apertura de la línea de transmisión 69 kV Playa Dorada – Puerto Plata para facilitar estas labores. Estas intervenciones permitirán reforzar laseguridad operativadel sistema y contribuirán a unared de transmisión más robusta y confiable para la provincia. Para la ejecución de estos trabajos será necesario intervenir el servicio eléctrico en las comunidades de Puerto Plata, Cristo Rey, Padre Las Casas, urbanización Montemar, Los Mameyes, Ensanche Dubeaux, urbanización Florida, urbanización Arcoíris y urbanización Gregorio Luperón. Asimismo, por el mantenimiento mayor a barra en la subestación 69 kV Puerto Plata,será necesario intervenir el servicio eléctrico en la provincia de Puerto Plata, de manera parcial en la comunidadDon Pedro, perteneciente a la provinciaSantiago, enSabaneta de Yásica, perteneciente a la provincia Puerto Plata, así como en la empresa Puerto Plata Distribución. De igual forma, por la apertura de la línea de transmisión 69 kV Playa Dorada – Puerto Plata, se verá afectado el servicio eléctrico en las comunidades La Colonia, Barrio La Paz, Costa Azul, Punta Goleta, Las Espinas y Rocón. De manera transitoria, también se verán impactadas las comunidades La Hoya, Palo Colorado, La Vereda, El Mango, Blanco Arriba, Jobo Arriba, La Cigua y Arroyo Blanco, pertenecientes a la provincia de Puerto Plata. La culminación de este proyecto representa unimportante avancepara el fortalecimiento de la red de transmisión de la zona norte, al disponer de una infraestructura con mayor capacidad, preparada para acompañar elcrecimiento energético, turístico, comercial y económico de Puerto Plata,contribuyendo a ofrecer un servicio eléctrico más seguro, estable y eficiente.
