Gobierno dispone reducción de jornada laboral este viernes en instituciones públicas
Santo Domingo.- On the occasion of the start of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) ordered that the State institutions located in Greater Santo Domingo will conclude the work day on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. m.
The provision contained in Circular No. 0022855, signed by Minister Sigmund Freund, indicates that the measure seeks to contribute to mobility and facilitate vehicular circulation within the city of Santo Domingo.
The document indicates that the heads of the different public institutions may establish special work schedules when the nature of the institution so requires, in order to guarantee continuity in the provision of essential services to citizens.
The Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will officially begin this Friday, with activities of different sports disciplines that will be held in different locations in the country. They will last until August 9.
The opening ceremony will be held in the renovated Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, at 7:00 p.m., although the doors of the venue will be open from 4:00 p.m.
About 45,000 people are expected to attend the inauguration. This figure includes the 30,000 spectators in the stands, more than 6,000 athletes from the international delegations and nearly 9,000 people including artists, dancers, technicians and logistics personnel.

Se espera queunas 45,000 personas asistan a la inauguración.
