Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Affirms the Strength of Iraq-Iran Relations During Joint Talks in Tehran and Calls for Joint Investments Across Various Sectors •••••••••• Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired the Iraqi delegation during the joint talks held today, Thursday, with the Iranian side, led by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, including establishing a mechanism for the work of the Iraq-Iran Joint Economic Committee. During the talks, the Prime Minister affirmed that his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran reflects the depth of the bilateral relationship and renews it, describing it as a bridge of goodwill between the two peoples. He highlighted the partnership that unites the two countries through religion, civilization, geography, and culture. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi explained that the visit aims to discuss issues of concern to both countries and the region, stressing that the security of Iraq and Iran is interconnected and that Iraq will not allow any threat to Iran to originate from its territory. He also recalled Iran’s honorable support for Iraq during the war against the ISIS terrorist organization and called for joint investments across various sectors. For his part, President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for the Iraqi people’s noble gesture in participating in the funeral procession of the late Sayyid Khamenei. He also highlighted the deep bonds between the two peoples, stressing that security and stability are of great importance and positively contribute to bilateral development.
