Damascus, July 23 (SANA)Syria’sHealth MinisterMusab al-Ali discussedinvestmentopportunities in thepharmaceutical sectorwith businessman Mohammad Kamel Sabbagh Sharbati on Thursday, as the government seeks to expand domestic drug production and attract industrial investment.Al-Ali highlighted government measures to support pharmaceutical investment, including regulatory incentives aimed at encouraging the establishment of advanced drug manufacturing facilities.He said developing the pharmaceutical industry would strengthen local production, improve self-sufficiency and enhance the competitiveness of Syrian medicines.Sharbati presented an investment proposal focused on establishing pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and developing advanced drug technologies to support the national pharmaceutical sector and strengthenmedicine security.Sharbati is one of Syria’s prominent textile industrialists. In February 2026, he established Maria Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries LLC in Aleppo, a company approved by the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
