Aleppo, July 23 (SANA)Aleppo’s Alleramoon Roundabout reopened on Wednesday after rehabilitation, maintenance and landscaping works, in a project aimed at improving one of the city’s main entrances.

The reopening ceremony was attended byAleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib, who said the project carries symbolic significance for residents and the industrial sector due to the area’s role as a hub for factories and production facilities.

Al-Gharib said the project was designed to transform the memories associated with the site in recent years into a landmark reflecting the values of the new Syria: science, work and justice.

Project designer Mohammad Azizi said the new design goes beyond traditional landscaping, featuring an abstract central structuresymbolizing renewal, surrounded by elements representing science, work and justice. The project also includes green spaces, water features and a modern lighting system aimed at turning the site into a public attraction.

Residents welcomed the reopening, with Haitham Ali, a resident of Deir Hafir, telling SANA that the design conveys a message about the importance of science and knowledge. He also urged visitors to preserve the cleanliness of public spaces.

Resident Reem al-Tatari said she was pleased to see the project completed, adding that it brings renewed beauty and activity to the city.

Located at Aleppo’s northern entrance, Alleramoon Roundabout is a key gateway on the commercial route toward theBab al-Salam bordercrossing with Türkiye. Authorities said its rehabilitation is expected to improve traffic flow and facilitate the movement of commercial trucks and passenger buses.
