His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call today from his brother, His Excellency Ahmed al-Sharaa, President of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic. During the call, the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of supporting and developing them were reviewed, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments, most notably the developments in the situation in the Middle East region. In this regard, His Excellency the Syrian President praised the role of the State of Qatar and its efforts in calming the situation and strengthening regional and international security. He also stressed The two sides stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to reduce escalation and giving priority to political solutions and dialogue, which contributes to consolidating stability in the region, sparing its people further tensions, pushing towards settling differences through diplomatic means, and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace there.
