Presentan cronograma de obras prioritarias del plan Panamá Pa’ Ti, que busca generar 80 mil empleos
The Minister and Secretary of Goals, José Ramón Icaza, revealed the schedule of the “Panamá Pa’ Ti” plan with a prioritized timeline to generate 80 thousand jobs. The strategy begins next August with the presentation of legislative initiatives to facilitate Panamanian families' access to credit and, consequently, reactivate the construction sector, as well as the tourism incentive law to accelerate and boost investment in this sector.
In a press conference held after the Cabinet Council session, Icaza highlighted that the expediting of this project occurs following the announcement made by the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, on July 1 during the presentation of the Report to the Nation before the National Assembly of Deputies, where he explained the four pillars of the program: Employment, Health, Water and Basic Basket.
In the Employment axis, this first initiative seeks to reactivate the construction projects of houses of preferential interest at the national level and implement the Talent Up program. For September, it referred to the beginning of the construction of 314 facilities of the Houses of Peace, and the beginning of the first generation of CEAGRO.
For the month of November, the tender for the expansion of the Colón Free Zone and the promotion of My First Agro Employment are planned. Likewise, the development of large works such as the Fourth Bridge, Metro Line 3, the rehabilitation of the West and East Pan-American highway and the Campana interchange.
In the Health axis, Icaza announced that the telemedicine pilot program will be launched in August; in September, the implementation of the Electronic Prescription; the delivery of the Bugaba Cancer Center and the Anita Moreno Hospital, for the months of November and December, as well as the expansion of access to low-cost medicines.
On the topic of Basic Basket, the minister highlighted that in September the People's Store will open in Changuinola and another 4 in Veraguas, one in the provinces of Chiriquí, Colón, Herrera; 2 in Panama and one in Panama Oeste. It is expected to establish the table with a tripartite commission to achieve products at affordable prices through an agreement with producers and supermarkets, which does not constitute price regulation.
In the Water sector, in August the Panama Without Leaks program is intensified; In October the Desalination Plant and the Isla Colón Aqueduct will be delivered, while through the Azuero Plan it is expected to achieve, by the end of the year, the goal of opening 122 wells and make progress in reestablishing the water production of the water treatment plants.
At the national level, the rehabilitation program of water treatment plants in eight provinces will be monitored.

El ministro y secretario de Metas, José Ramón Icaza, reveló el cronograma del plan “Panamá Pa’ Ti” con una línea de tiempo priorizada para generar 80 mil empleos. La estrategia se inicia en agosto próximo con la presentación de iniciativas legislativas para facilitar a las familias panameñas el acceso al crédito y, por consiguiente, reactivar el sector de la construcción, así como la ley de incentivo turístico para acelerar y dinamizar la inversión en este sector. En conferencia de prensa realizada tras la sesión del Consejo de Gabinete, Icaza destacó que la agilización de este proyecto se da a partir del anuncio que hizo el presidente de la República, José Raúl Mulino, el 1 de julio durante la presentación del Informe a la Nación ante la Asamblea Nacional de Diputados, donde expuso los cuatro pilares del programa: Empleo, Salud, Agua y Canasta Básica. En el eje Empleo, esta primera iniciativa busca reactivar los proyectos de construcción de casas de interés preferencial a nivel nacional y poner en curso el programa Talent Up. Para septiembre, hizo referencia al inicio de la construcción de 314 instalaciones de las Casas de Paz, y el inicio de la primera generación del CEAGRO. Para el mes de noviembre, se prevé la licitación de la expansión de la Zona Libre de Colón y el impulso de Mi Primer Empleo Agro. Igualmente, el desarrollo de grandes obras como el Cuarto Puente, la Línea 3 del Metro, la rehabilitación de la carretera Panamericana Oeste y Este y el intercambiador de Campana. En el eje Salud, Icaza adelantó que en agosto se lanzará el programa piloto de telemedicina; en septiembre, la implementación de la Receta Electrónica; la entrega del Centro Oncológico de Bugaba y del Hospital Anita Moreno, para los meses de noviembre y diciembre, así como la expansión del acceso a medicamentos de bajo costo. En el tema Canasta Básica, el ministro destacó que en septiembre será la apertura de la Tienda del Pueblo en Changuinola y de otras 4 en Veraguas, una en las provincias de Chiriquí, Colón, Herrera; 2 en Panamá y una en Panamá Oeste. Se espera establecer la mesa con una comisión tripartita para lograr productos a precios accesibles a través de un acuerdo con productores y supermercados, lo cual no constituye regulación de precios. En el sector Agua, en agosto se intensifica en programa Panamá Sin Fugas; en octubre se entregará la Desalinizadora y el Acueducto de Isla Colón, mientras que a través del Plan Azuero se espera lograr, para finales del año, la meta de apertura de 122 pozos e ir avanzando en el restablecimiento de la producción de agua de las plantas potabilizadoras. A nivel nacional, se dará seguimiento al programa de rehabilitación de plantas potabilizadoras en ocho provincias.
