Zurich, July 22 (SANA)Spainhas reclaimed the top spot in the men’sFIFArankings, while Argentina dropped to second place, according to the latest update issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), which also saw Morocco rise to sixth position.

Spain’s climb to the top comes after winningthe World Cupagainst Argentina, which lost its leading position for the first time since last January.

France and England maintained their third and fourth places respectively, despite coach Thomas Tuchel’s team defeating France to secure the bronze medal.

Brazil moved up to fifth place, while Morocco advanced to sixth—its highest ranking ever. Portugal fell two spots to seventh after exiting the World Cup in the Round of 16, and Belgium rose to eighth, swapping places with the Netherlands, which dropped to ninth.

Mexico climbed four places to enter the top ten, while Norway recorded the biggest jump, rising 12 spots to 19th after reaching the World Cup quarterfinals.

Germany fell out of the top ten, dropping to 12th, one place ahead of Croatia. Italy, which failed to qualify for the World Cup, slipped to 15th.

Tunisia recorded the steepest decline, falling 12 places to 57th, while Egypt rose five spots to 24th. Paraguay advanced seven places to 34th globally after both teams reached the Round of 16.
