Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo presents credentials to the President22 July 2026

Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the Maldives, His Excellency Lulzim Pllana, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.

The Ambassador was escorted in a traditional 'Haiykolhu' cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.

The President accepted the Letter of Credence and formally welcomed His Excellency Lulzim Pllana as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo.

Following the ceremony, the President expressed appreciation for the scholarships extended by the Kosovan government. The President and the Ambassador also discussed expanding cooperation in education, youth development, tourism, trade, and other areas of mutual interest, while reaffirming their commitment to translating bilateral cooperation into tangible and sustainable outcomes.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Kosovo were established on 15 April 2009.
