The leaders of the Coordination Framework, along with the other political forces, also reaffirmed that they would not protect any individual involved in corruption In this context, the Prime Minister instructed ministers to identify and relieve from office any deputy minister or director general against whom suspicions of corruption arise, stressing that the government will hold the relevant minister accountable for retaining any deputy minister or director general whose continued service is associated with such suspicions. As part of the government’s efforts to provide services to pilgrims during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, the Council of Ministers approved the allocation of IQD 52.5 billion to the relevant entities and the holy shrines. The Council of Ministers also approved the leasing of 2,400 buses, in addition to government vehicles and buses, to facilitate the return of pilgrims following the pilgrimage. To meet the energy sector's requirements, the Council of Ministers authorized the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) to import gas oil for the Ministry of Electricity. The Council of Ministers approved the transfer of ownership of the housing units in Al Rahab Residential Complex by the Basra Municipality to the beneficiaries. Basra Governorate shall conduct an administrative investigation into those found to have been negligent and verify that no damage has been caused to public funds. To strengthen environmental oversight mechanisms, the Council of Ministers approved the issuance of the Draft First Amendment to the Regulation on the Control of Ozone-Depleting Substances No. (5 of 2012), pursuant to the Environmental Improvement Law No. (27 of 2009).
