Beirut , July 21 (SANA)   TheLebanese Armybegan on Tuesday morning deploying units in the town of Western Zawtar insouthern Lebanon, in implementation of theframe work agreementsigned between Lebanon and Israel last June.

According to the National News Agency, the Army Command said in a statement that the move comes as part of the “pilot areas” outlined in the framework agreement, and precedes a meeting later today between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington.

The statement added: “Further to the previous announcement regarding the continued execution of Army missions in the southern regions, military units began this morning deploying in Western Zawtar – Nabatieh, based on ongoing coordination with the Lebanon Military Coordination Group (MCG4L).

The statement urged citizens “to refrain from heading to the town until the security situation stabilizes, and to comply with the instructions issued by the deployed military units for their safety.”

on July 15, Washington announced that Lebanon and Israel had agreed, following two days of talks in Rome, on the structure and guiding principles for the ‘pilot area’ process.

Lebanon and Israel had signed the framework agreement on June 26 after five rounds of negotiations. The agreement stipulates, in particular, the disarmament of the Hezbollah militia, the gradual withdrawal ofIsraeli forcesfrom areas they advanced into southern Lebanon, and the deployment of the Lebanese Army beginning with two designatedpilot zones
