.Santo Domingo.-President Luis Abinader led the inauguration of the Porto Town Center by La Marquesa shopping plaza, a project that demonstrates the solid confidence of the private sector in economic stability, legal security and investment promotion policies promoted by the current government administration to boost the urban development of Arroyo Hondo and its surrounding areas.
When speaking a few words, the Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed), Víctor “Ito” Bisonó, highlighted that this square is a sign of trust in the country and the government. He pointed out that President Abinader's vision has been to build a climate of trust so that investment generates opportunities for all Dominicans.
He considered that with this work, the president sends a clear message to those who invest in the country: "The Dominican Republic is a safe, stable destination with the necessary conditions to grow."
Meanwhile, José Jiménez, representative of the Juan Valdez franchise, the company's general manager, Héctor Bretón, and the CEO of the Amergent Partners group, Jacinto Díaz Haché, highlighted that the institutional support of President Abinader's government has been essential to consolidate a favorable and predictable business climate.
They agreed that the vision of supporting free enterprise and attracting capital makes it possible to carry out works of great impact that strengthen the national economy and raise the quality of life of citizens.
The modern infrastructure has a built area of 7,200 square meters, designed under innovation and sustainability standards to respond to the community's growing demands for services, commerce and entertainment.
The complex houses a total of 71 commercial premises strategically distributed to accommodate a varied offering of national and international brands, service companies, gastronomic proposals and convenience stores.
In terms of social and labor development, the entry into operation of the plaza will generate more than 350 direct jobs in its operation phase and 100 indirect jobs, thereby positively impacting families in the area and energizing the local labor market.
With the official opening of Porto Town Center by La Marquesa, the Arroyo Hondo sector strengthens its commercial positioning, offering residents a modern, accessible and safe space adapted to the current demands of the urban environment.
