World Cup2030 to begin in Uruguay as six teams secure historic qualification

Damascus,July 21 (SANA)Six national teams have officially secured their places at the2030FIFA World Cup, in a historic edition of the tournament that will be hosted across three countries on two continents and will coincide with the centenary of the first-ever World Cup.

The list of qualified teams so far includes Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, which will host the main competition, as well as Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, which will stage commemorative matches as part of celebrations marking 100 years since the inaugural World Cup.

The 2030 World Cup will be held in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco as part of celebrations for the tournament’s centenary, following the first edition hosted by Uruguayin 1930, where the South American nation lifted the first World Cup trophy.

Uruguay,Argentina, and Paraguay will host opening matches during the group stage in recognition of South America’s historic role in the creation and development of the global football tournament.

The 2030FIFA World Cup is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, June 13, with the opening match set to take place at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay — the iconic venue that hosted the final of the first-ever World Cup in 1930.
