Drinking water restored to four towns in Deir Ezzor after 14-year outage
Deir Ezzor, July 21 (SANA)Syrian Energy MinisterMohammad al-Bashirannounced on Tuesday that drinking water has been restored to four towns in the western countryside ofDeir Ezzorafter an interruption of more than 14 years.
In a post on X, al-Bashir said newly installed water pipelines had restored service to the towns of al-Turaif, Maadan Atiq, al-Qasabi, and Abu Shahri, while also extending the network for the first time to nearby communities that had not previously been connected.
“Step by step, we are restoring essential services to our people,” he wrote.
Earlier, the Deir Ezzor Water and Sanitation Company, in cooperation with UNICEF, launched a project to rehabilitate and replace water networks across the governorate to improve services and ensure a more reliable water supply for residents.
