Jordanian Armed Forces intercept five Iranian drones

Damascus,Jul. 21 (SANA)The Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Tuesday that they had intercepted five drones launched from Iran, with no casualties reported.A military source at the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said in a statement published on the army’s official website that the drones were dealt with “efficiently and accurately” during operations conducted overnight and on Tuesday morning.The source added that the interception was carried out in line with operational requirements and established defensive procedures, resulting in no injuries or material damage.TheJordanian Armed Forcessaid they continue to monitor the country’s airspace, maintain operational readiness, and take necessary measures against any aerial threat to Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens, in accordance with applicable rules of engagement.The announcement comes two days after the Jordanian military said it intercepted three out of fourIranian missilesthat targeted the Kingdom, while the fourth missile fell in a remote, uninhabited area insouthern Jordanwithout causing casualties or damage.Jordan’s Foreign Ministry had also summoned Iran’s chargé d’affaires in Amman and delivered a formal protest over what it described as continued Iranian attacks targeting Jordanian territory and statements issued by Iranian officials regarding the Kingdom.R.H/MZN
